Sharyn shared that she feels blessed to have grown up around aunties who helped her to live the gospel.
Sam shared that he doesn't really go on facebook anymore. He's now on TikTok and was watching his live. A friend was surprised that he only has 300 follows on his tiktok, and when his friend commented on it, he was happy to note that the number of followers didn't matter, but more that he built relationships with others. He's trying to not have arguments with others, and doesn't want to spend his last days arguing with others. Gathering with family is so important. Sharing stories, talking about the gospel and connecting. He looks forward to this each week.

Grandma Alice's mother - why did she leave her marriage? The story was that Maraea was dragged all the way to court house to get a divorce. But later mom found out the real story is that the husband at the time was 4'8" and Maraea was 500 lbs. Maraea had cheated on the white dude and then ran off with the guy she cheated with (Haleamau). The baby at the time was Aunty Louise Beamer. Haleamau ran the lighthouse on Kauai. Sam got to play a gig there once.
Sam shared that when he did the gig on Kauai, the group was very disappointing. He said that they were the most disagreeable and miserable people he had ever met in his life. This particular gig was for NOAA. They paid them to come and entertain this group of miserable people. While Vaihi was on break, he asked one of the ladies what was wrong. She relayed to him that they were upset because they wanted to see the whales. So then when their second set started, Sam told him that he could talk to whales. So he started making whale noises. And while he's making his whale noises, a whale jumps up. The group got so excited, they left the party to go watch the whales.
Iwa remembered that when she visited Kauai, she was trying to find the lighthouse, but they couldn't find it. She didn't want to get lost so she decided to turn around. And just in time for Pati to tell her "You know aunty Iwa, it would be easier for us to find it if we came to see it at night.

She told Sam that she had a lot of Grandma Irene's pottery and she was worried that if she passed away, that her kids would not know the value of them. So one day, Sam and Lina got banana bread and went over to her house. Sam, Lina, and Delmann set up outside of her house and sang to her for a half hour. Aunty Tita then told them a story about Grandma Irene.
Grandma Irene loved to make fancy eggs. And she had entered an easter contest, along with Aunty Tita and Grandpa Alex. Grandpa Alex was very good with wood, and he made a wooden egg. Grandma was a bit prideful because she kept telling them that she was going it win, because her fancy eggs were beautiful. But she didn't win. She lost. and Grandpa Alex won with his wooden egg.
Grandma Langi shared that grandma irene and grandpa alex never bought gifts for Christmas. Grandpa would make wooden bowls and Grandma would always make ceramic gifts.
Grandma Irene always had these fancy stone eggs in her kitchen. They were bought on a trip to the mainland.
